This is a beautiful Caribou with Calf by Pootoogook Jaw from Kinngait — Cape Dorset. Master Inuit carver Pootoogok Jaw with almost 40 years of carving experience mostly carves in traditional green stone. His carvings typically show a great deal of details and are full of movement. Here the lines are simple, strong and uncomplicated, yet evoking the maternal instincts of the female caribou. This striking Caribou with Calf by Pootoogook Jaw is a great example of Pootoogook’s ability and will be a continuous source of pleasure.
