Some organic materials such as walrus ivory and whale bone cannot be exported out of the country. International legislation does not allow us to ship sculptures made from one of these materials out of Canada. Due to the CITES rules with regard to whalebone , this whalebone carving can only be sold within Canada. Species listed under Appendix II of CITES, such as polar bear, require an export permit before a specimen can cross an international border. Decisions on export permits are made on a case-by-case basis, beginning with a verification of the legal harvest and the legal possession of the specimens. Unfortunately we are not in a position to meet the requirements for an export permit.
