Issaci Petaulassie comes from a family of artists. His father, Etidlooie Petaulassie and his mother, Miluqtiktu Petaulassie are both established carvers. His grandfather, Latcholassie Akesuk is a famous Cape Dorset sculptor.
Isaaci is a graduate of the Arts and Crafts Program at Nunavut College. His favorite theme is the polar bear His carvings of bears have attractive, detailed and natural facial features and display well-executed compositions.
