Description
Alariaq Shaa from Cape Dorset – Kinngait is better known for his carvings of dancing bears and walruses. This Inuksuk by Alariaq Shaa is an exception to that rule, at least as far as the subject matter is concerned. Because, just like his wonderfully executed bears and walruses, this inukshuk too speaks of Alariaq’s craftsmanship: a beautiful stone, a well executed inuksuk, a quality carving.
