Description
Peter Palvik moved to Holman with his family in the mid-1960s when he was old enough to go to school. In 1978 he began receiving instruction in lithography from print shop manager John Rose, and later with visiting Winnipeg artist David Umholtz. From 1980 to 2000 he rendered 61 drawings by other artists into prints for the Holman annual collection of limited-edition prints, and in 1989 he began printing his own highly detailed drawings. His preferred technique of drawing directly on lithographic stones allows for an accurate translation of his meticulous drawings depicting naturalistic subjects and landscapes.
