Description

Loon by Toona Iqulik is a great demonstration of the Baker Lake style of carving. The carvings are created from the hard local  basalt stone and are often minimal in style, in part due to the hardness of the stone. Baker Lake pieces are often less detailed and less polished but still exude talent and emotion. This is a fantastic carving  from an important carver (see biography) in a style that is often under-appreciated.
