Description

This Walrus by Allie Kasudluak from Inukjuak is signed E9-1670.

E9-1670 is the government assigned disc number to Allie Kasudluak, an Inuit artist from Inukjuak (Port Harrison), Nunavik, Quebec who lived from 1926 to 1982.

This walrus has come to us through the secondary market and is surprisingly well preserved for its age. The carving shows some normal wear that is easy to deal with. We prefer to leave the little dings as it shows character. It also leaves it up to the collector to either cherish it in its present condition or restore it into a new like state. This walrus is a nice older piece.
