Gorgeous new print from the 2023 Dorset Print Collection: Games We Play by Josie Pootoogook
Josie started to draw in her school years and continued to do graphic arts as she entered into adulthood. Josie was inspired to draw by admiring drawings by her uncle, Kanaginak Pootoogook, her aunt, Napachie Pootoogook and her cousin, Annie Pootoogook. Josie sold her first drawing back in 2014 or 2015, and ever since she’s been selling her drawings to the Co-op. Josie likes to draw present and past life and animals.

Josie’s parents were Paulassie and Ishoqangitok Pootoogook. Josie has four brothers and two sisters. Almost all of Josie’s family members are artists. Her father, Paulassie, was a well known sculptor. Her brother, Itee Pootoogook, and sister, Malaiya Pootoogook, were graphic artists. All three of her other brothers are sculptors.
