This is a truly unique carving of an Igloo by Roy Pamialok (Klengenberg) from Kugluktuk, formerly Coppermine. This Igloo opens up to reveal two seated figures, one a drum dancer, a seal, and other implements. It’s a beautiful reminder by the artist of a time not so long ago, when this would have been a traditional way of life. It is not often that igloos like these come on the market. The details in this carving are just lovely.
This carving was purchased from a private collector who bought the carving directly from the artist. A wonderful addition to anyone’s collection
