This Mother and Child Possibly by Peter Sevoga from Baker Lake is an impressive carving showing great strength. The carving beautifully represents the characteristics of Baker Lake sculptures: simplicity, strength of composition, hardness of the stone, minimalism of carving and yet powerful representation of the Inuit People. The carving has come to us from a private collection of Baker Lake art, purchased directly in the community, and has been attributed to Peter Sevoga, but is unsigned.
