Description

An older carving of an Otter with Fish by Josie Nulukie from Inukjuak. This Otter with Fish comes to us through the secondary market and does show some signs of its age. It does however have a nice presence and is typical for the era (probably late sixties) and the region of Northern Quebec.

“[Josie was] a likeable, friendly and quiet man. His carvings are considered
to be primitive and he [liked] to use green soapstone, usually portraying
animals, notably walrus.”
